Transportation by car, van or bus has become a common and integral job function within today's healthcare industry. Employees are routinely called upon to transport themselves and/or others to various community locations.
The Trust offers a number of defensive driving courses to meet the varying needs of our members. Our courses are tailored to van driver, experienced drivers needing a refresher program, emergency vehicle operators, snow plow operators, and drivers charged with transporting passengers with special needs, which includes safety techniques for tying down wheelchairs. Courses are offered to reduce distractions while driving and preparing drivers to handle the worst weather conditionss. Scheduling and educational objectives are tailor-fitted according to your driving risks, staffing and time constraints
Recognized by the National Safety Council (NSC) as a Public Training Center, the Trust offers the National Safety Council Defensive Driving 4-Hour Course (DDC-4). Presented by Trust NSC certified instructors, the DDC-4 course offfers practical strategies to reduce collision-related injuries, fatalities and related costs. The course address the importance of attitude in preventing crashes and reinforces good driving behaviors. The course also demonstrates the consequences of choices made behind the wheel.
